International Falls has received international attention for its annual foot races. The four-day winter festival fondly known as “IceBox Days” is packed full of fun and wacky games for visitors and community members of all ages. Featured events in this cold-weather festival include frozen turkey bowling, snow sculpting, Smoosh races, snowshoeing in Voyageurs National Park, a Beach Party, FIREWORKS and more.
The "Freeze Yer Gizzard Blizzard Runs," 10K and 5K races, are celebrations of winter running that have been covered by television stations, newspapers and magazines including Runner's World. Events were featured in 2009 in an Extreme Traditions segment on the Travel Channel and reruns of our area still air on Cantore Stories on the Weather Channel.

In 2011, the FYGBR and Icebox Days were featured in the United Kingdom with a live interview on Sports Radio, and Lifetime TV recorded the event.. This year, MSNBC came calling as well as the travel editor for the “Metro,” the largest newspaper in the UK.
