International Falls receives international attention for its annual foot races. The four-day winter festival fondly known as “Icebox Days” is packed full of fun and wacky games for visitors and community members of all ages. Featured events for this cold-weather festival include frozen turkey bowling, snow sculpting, Smoosh races, snowshoeing in Voyageurs National Park, a Beach Party, FIREWORKS under the winter sky and more.

The "Freeze Yer Gizzard Blizzard Runs," 10K and 5K races, are celebrations of winter races which have been featured on major television stations including morning network shows, Cantore Stories (still in reruns) on The Weather Channel and Extreme Traditions segment on The Travel Channel. Newspapers and magazines around the world come calling to discover our zany fun in the Icebox of the Nation.

In 2012,  MSNBC came calling as well as the travel editor for the “Metro,” the largest newspaper in the UK. In 2011, the FYGBR and Icebox Days were featured in the United Kingdom with a live interview on Sports Radio, and Lifetime TV recorded the event.
